I don’t use cliche phrases like “I build things” or “I can’t function without a good cup of coffee.” Actually, I don’t even drink coffee. What I do is design for web and print, and code the front-end of beautiful websites like these.
Currently you can find me beautifying the web, one project at a time, at a recruitment ad agency working remotely from the Portland, Oregon area. I work on everything from responsive website design and code, digital and print design, branding, logo design, and responsive HTML emails.
When not at work, I keep myself busy playing the drums, shooting lomography (plastic cameras that use film), hiking around Portland, and reading. Fun fact about me, I've listened to every single album ranked in the book “1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.” Get in touch with me and see what I can do for your next project.
One of the nations top pizza chains needed a career website, and I was responsible for the designs. My role ran from initial wireframe sketching, UI/UX, full page mockups, and working with the client on asset selection. On this project, I was not involved in any coding.
Art direction and website design for a lead-gen recruitment campaign centered around Comic Con. Visitors spent a remarkable average of 2.5 minutes on the site, and Intuit ended up with 214 qualified leads from various competitor companies.
Responsive career website designs for Intermune, a pharmaceutical company. Unfortunately this project was put on hold indefinitely prior to front-end development, when Intermune was bought by pharmaceutical giant Roche.
Design and front-end coding for responsive one page lead generation site for Genesis Physician Services. In just three months, the landing page had 631 new visitor sessions (a very strong showing for such a highly specialized audience), and the page was a recent industry award winner for being “attractive, approachable and providing a great overview of Genesis Physician and Practitioner Services." I designed and did the front-end code on a custom themed WordPress blog, which was added later after the initial success of the landing page.
Responsive career website designs for Onyx, a pharmaceutical company. Unfortunately this project was put on hold indefinitely prior to front-end development, when Onyx was bought by pharmaceutical giant Amgen.
Responsive career website designs for Mallinckrodt, a pharmaceutical company. I worked on wireframes, and created the desktop and mobile page comps, before handing the designs off to another developer.
I regularly design and develop responsive HTML emails for multiple clients. All emails are tested in Litmus to ensure compatibility for the various desktop and mobile email clients. I code within specifications for the various vendors that deliver the email, and assist with sending and tracking when needed.
Concept creation and art direction, based on a concept to highlight what makes Seton stand out for employees compared to other healthcare systems in the same area.
I came up with the initial "Exposure" concept and headlines, and designed a series of 3 ads for Covance's employment branding. The concept highlighted the science rather than the employee, so the equipment and tools while the employee is in the background and out of focus.
Recruitment marketing campaign, featuring several different print ads.
A recruitment campaign aimed for Intuit, aimed at college students. The concept was based on continued learning and growth, as illustrated in the graphic, and was built out for multiple touchpoints such as posters, banners, and an event booth
Annual report design, with customized infographic section and map fold printing.
An invite design for the annual Boys and Girls Clubs. Invite design included a branded envelope, response card, RSVP envelope, and invite. Due to increased demand, a last minute semi-transparent info card was designed and included.
Employment branding creative for Mallinckrodt, based on a headline and strapline from a copywriter. Conceptually shows the people behind the science, with a personal employee highlight for each employee focused in the ad.
A poster, t-shirt, and certificate designed for an internal social media awareness campaign dubbed "J-Social." Employees would receive this branded campaign "swag" upon completion.

I shoot film (yes, you read that right) on a Diana F+, a plastic lomography camera. Here are some of my favorite shots. Partly because of the unpredictable camera and partly because of the wait for film to be developed, it's been a lot of fun experimenting and exploring the world with my camera.
